NTS (National Testing Service) is the authorized institution for announcing and conducting tests for the candidates in national or international for different purposes as explained below.

GAT General (Graduate Assessment Test General)

GAT General test for the candidates who seek admission in MS / M.Phil in any university in national or international. This test contains. There are FOUR types of GAT tests known as GAT A, GAT B, GAT C and GAT D.

• GAT A is for the students applying for Engineering or Business.

• GAT B is for the students applying for Social Sciences and Humanities.

• GAT C is for the students applying for Biology, Agriculture and Veterinary.

GAT C is for the students applying for Religious Studies.

As the very name indicates GAT General is not particularly focused on any single subject. There are THREE portions in every GAT test and they are; verbal reasoning, quantitative and Analytical. GAT Subject (Graduate Assessment Test Subject) GAT Subject is for the candidates who seek admission in PhD in any university of national or international. Duration for the test is One hour and twenty minutes and there are TWO sections; general and subject. Since the test is subject based that is why the weightage for the subject section is 70% and for the general portion it is 30%. General section is further divided into two sub sections; English and Analytical Reasoning both carry 15% of weightage. There are SIXTY-TWO different subjects in which NTS offers GAT Subject test.

GAT Law GAT Law is for those who seek to go for law. Paper is divided into SIX portions; English Legal Language, Constitution, Law of Evidence, Jurisprudence, Civil Law, Criminal Law. English Legal Language and Law of Evidence contains 10% of weightage whereas the rest of portions have equal weightage of 20% each. TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) There are THREE kinds of TOEFL tests; TOEFL Primary, TOEFL Junior and TOEFL ITP. Primary is for the young students who have attained the age of eight or more. There are different international schools in which TOEFL Junior is compulsory. TOEFL ITP assesses candidates in reading, writing and comprehension TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) Similarly like TOEFL TOEIC test is also valid for about fourteen hundred universities around the world. NAT (National Aptitude Test)

Validity of this test is for ONE year. It is the single test for all the associated universities of NTS and once you go through it you stand eligible to take admission in all the universities. For the list of universities you have to visit official website of NTS.
