IELTS is International English Language Testing System and it is the standard criterion to judge English Language Skill in the candidates around the world. IELTS is accepted online English Language Testing that it has its validity in educational and professional organizations in North America, European English nations South Africa and many more. IELTS is valid for two years after which one has to reappear. Candidates are awarded score in the form of bands which are from ONE to NINE, ONE stands for the lowest proficiency in English and the NINE is an exceptional ability in English language. ZERO bands means candidate didn’t attempt the test. In one year not less then million of students appear in IELTS from all over the world. It has FOUR modules which are mandatory to get through. Which are the basic skills as in any language like;
You have to show your skill in the above FOUR modules in order to qualify and within the prescribed time duration which is TWO hours and FORTY-FIVE minutes for overall test. IELTS test is no doubt one of the systematic assessment systems recognized in 135 countries around the world and thousands of educational institutes and organizations, established in 1989 owned by three reputable institutions;
Broadly we see just four modules but specifically speaking these four assessments are on the deep level. You cannot just get through and get good score in a haphazard way. Examiners are the expert professionals so you must have a vast knowledge and practice in all the above fields. IELTS tests are of two types;
General test is for those who seek non-academic training immigration or work experience in English speaking countries. Whereas Academic test as the name indicates is for the higher education and professional training. In one year there are no less than almost 48 tests which is the big target. That is why IELTS is called the fastest growing test in the world. It is something really very amazing that within 10 years (from 1999 to 2009) the candidates in IELTS grew almost FIFTEEN times which is a challenge. Registration You can get yourself registered either with Australian Education Office (AEO) or British Council. It depends on you which one you prefer, for it is not the matter of compulsion rather facility. Australian Education Office (AEO) as the very name indicates offers IELTS for the Australian institutions but it doesn’t mean if you are going to Australia you have to opt AEO.
